I M Kelly Automotive welcome new opportunities at breakfast event

The latest sell-out Made in the Midlands breakfast event was hosted by developer and manufacturer of leather and textile interior trim components, I M Kelly Automotive in Coventry, West Midlands.

I M Kelly Automotive is ideally placed for medium and limited volume bespoke projects. From individual trimmed components supplied to the UK's most prestigious marques, to the cockpit of James Bond's car of choice.

I M Kelly Automotive produced products can be found in luxury cars all over the globe. Natural high quality leather, technical fabrics and manmade material, trimmed components adorn vehicles manufactured by the world's leading Automotive OEMS including Aston Martin, Bentley Motor Cars, Jaguar Land Rover, BMW and McLaren Cars.

Sales and Marketing Manager of I M Kelly, David Rose explained: “It was more successful than I anticipated to be a honest, there was a lot of warm feeling and passion in the room. Hopefully that came across in my presentation as well, I tried to keep it light with not too many facts and figures, to see people interacting in our facility and chatting away was great.”

The event marked the very first breakfast event for I M Kelly, yet the event created a great opportunity for the business, as Rose stated: “There was a person I met today, who I’m extremely interested in doing business with, I don’t know how you teach this, but talk about right place at the right time, there is a particular project that I am working on as of Monday, which absolutely demands the skills that this company has offered, they are local and Made in the Midlands members and I will be seeing them next week.”

As a multi-skilled workforce I M Kelly Automotive are able to provide the flexibility and organisational support systems to meet the exacting demands of the automotive, passenger aircraft and rail industries.

I M Kelly Automotive has a strong commitment to preserve and develop the specialist knowledge and craft skills of working fine leather. This level of commitment is also applied to the use of the latest passenger cabin textiles.

Made in the Midlands breakfast events aim to facilitate networking and business opportunities between MD’s and CEO’s of local manufacturing companies, as Rose added: “These events are great, because in the Midlands, particularly with automotive, we all tend to be fishing in the same pond.

“For example, whatever is going on with the OEM’s, it might be nice to share some of the experiences of what the other suppliers are going through. Because you may be able to bring together an experience that you have had, such as a cost down initiative etc. so you can share that joy and it is really nice. It can be a lonely place at the top of the business at times, so if you have like-minded individuals in the same room it can ease the pressure.”
